CAT tools (Computer-Aided Translation) are diversified programs to assist the translation operation. With accumulated translation database they allow for partial automation of the translation process and terminological consistency of the text

Trados - a tool commonly used in translator's job. In still popular 2007 version, there is a Translator's Workbench module- translation data managing program. The package also includes Trados TagEditor 2007, a set of macros for MS Word, MultiTerm for terminology management, WinAlign program allowing you to build a TM base, formed on previous translations and tools supporting DTP (eg. InDesign) files translation. The later version of Trados Studio 2009 and 2011 were designes as integrated tools helping translator's work and managing the translation projects for translation agencies. All the modules such as bilingual files editor, databases or WinAlign, were merged as functionalities in this developed application. Files transfer between traslation agency and and an interperter are done by using data packs. 2011 version supports many previously unsupported file formats.
Wordfast - there are two versions of this program available. The first is Wordfast Classic, which is a set of macros working in MS Word. The second version (Wordfast Pro) has independent software which supports various file formats.
SDL Passolo, Alchemy Catalyst - specialized tools for visual software localization. The tools allow users, who are not professional programmers, to introduce the necessary changes in the system dialogs.
